Jakarta, March 11 2024 – The 10-day beginner sewing workshop held in East Jakarta has been successfully completed. The collaboration between Fashion Crafty Jakarta, renowned for its expertise in the fashion industry, and Pusat Pelatihan Kerja Daerah Jakarta Timur provided valuable experience to participants with materials focusing on kebaya kutubaru and basic bustier techniques.
The workshop, held from February 28th to March 9th, was attended by dozens of participants from various backgrounds. They came with high spirits to learn and develop sewing skills, as well as to broaden their insights into the fashion world.
One of the highlights of this workshop was the provision of materials on kebaya kutubaru, a traditional attire that has regained popularity among Indonesian society. Participants were taught about the unique techniques in making kebaya kutubaru, ranging from fabric selection, pattern designing, to the precise sewing process.
Furthermore, participants were also equipped with basic bustier techniques, which are essential skills in the fashion industry. With a deep understanding of these basic techniques, it is hoped that participants will be able to further develop their abilities in designing and sewing modern garments that align with current trends.
Vera, one of the workshop participants, stated, “I am very grateful to have been able to attend this workshop. Over the course of 10 days, I learned many new things about sewing, especially in making kebaya kutubaru and bustier. This has been a valuable experience for me, and I plan to continue developing these skills in the future.”
In response to the success of this workshop, Megasandra, Founder of Fashion Crafty Jakarta, said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Pusat Pelatihan Kerja Daerah Jakarta Timur in organizing this workshop. Seeing the enthusiasm and spirit of the participants throughout the event, we are confident that they will be able to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in the real world. We hope that workshops like this can continue to be held to support the development of the local fashion industry.”
This workshop marks a positive step in the development of human resources in the fashion and crafts industry in East Jakarta. It is hoped that such workshops will continue to be held in the future to support the growth of the creative industry in Indonesia.
